Parents meet privately with me to clarify needs, learn new skills, design a plan, and take action steps to reach goals. Research and information is shared to help you improve communication, enhance daily interactions, and alleviate power struggles. This personalized support improves your relationships and creates positive changes in your family.
Parent coaching sessions are 60 minutes and include an emailed summary with action steps outlined. Sessions are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly in person (for clients in the Chicago area) or by phone, Zoom, or FaceTime. Twelve sessions are recommended to achieve maximum results.
One benefit of parent coaching is getting better alignment with your partner. If you find that different parenting approaches cause frustration or additional stress, I can help. We work together to understand parenting styles and family needs. You gain new skills and effective strategies to respond with consistency, improve relationships, and gain confidence.
I also work with parents who are co-parenting their children in two households. Whether one or both parents are interested in coaching, we focus on meeting the needs of your children with effective communication and positive approaches.
Parent groups are an ideal way to receive support and learn strategies while benefiting from a community of parents. Groups are formed based on age, such as preschoolers or middle schoolers, or on navigating a challenge such as ADHD. Open and honest dialogue leads to enhanced support and deeper understanding. I have facilitated groups that remain together from several months to many years. Contact me to start a group in your parent community!
Parenting classes are a great opportunity to learn in a dynamic group setting. I teach parenting classes at schools, businesses, and organizations. Classes can be tailored to meet the needs of the organization.
